I provide technical writing freelance services for nonprofits, cultural heritage institutions, and creatives on data topics like data migrations, AI, social media platforms, DAM, and more. I’ve been working on a lot of writing projects this past month for a book, conferences, and trade publications. So let’s go through the list:

  • I’m writing a book on Archives and the Politics of Tribal Sovereignty Violence in the US with Bloomsbury Libraries Unlimited. The book’s about how Archives repeat settler colonial fictions that maintain sources of sovereign power and impede archival efforts to decolonize core archival structures such as description, collecting, and intellectual property.

  • I wrote an article on digital preservation challenges to cultural heritage Augmented Reality (AR) apps like the smartphone compatibility, GenAI data environmental demands, and software preservation. It’s currently in review!

  • I’m writing an article on Gen Z’s connection to Billy Joel’s song “Vienna.” Gen Zers have created self-archives of tattoo reveals and lip-synching videos on social media platforms that are effectively affective archives. I’m going to present this paper at the Billy Joel Symposium at the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in July.

  • I wrote a white paper with Audrey Walstrom about how the healthcare industry uses AI in it’s data operations (e.g. diagnosing patients or analyzing diagnostic imaging). It’s made for healthcare professionals, counselors, data managers, and health science librarians.
